Cedric Schwyzer, CEO of FH Defense based out of Chico, CA.

Cedric is a highly experienced curriculum design, de-escalation, self-defense, and use of force expert.

​

He was born and raised in Europe and moved to Chico, CA about 23 years ago. Cedric has a BA in physical education and MA in pedagogy (teaching) from CSU Chico.

​

As a six-year security professional and 14-year law enforcement veteran, Cedric served in the roles of SWAT operator, VSU Detective (ICI  Gang & Homicide Investigations Certified), Terrorism Liaison Officer, Defensive-Tactics Instructor and Field Training Officer. Additionally, Cedric played an integral part in re-designing the defensive tactics curriculum for the entire Chico Police Department.  He has also obtained certifications as Force Science Analyst, Gracie Survival Tactics Instructor, Krav Maga Instructor, and Practical De-escalation Instructor.

As an instructor at the Butte College Law Enforcement Academy, Cedric designed and implemented a defensive tactics based tactical fitness program for recruits.

​

Prior to his career in Law Enforcement, Cedric competed on the amateur and professional level in kickboxing and MMA. He has 22+ years of experience in lesson planning, curriculum design as well as training and coaching boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Cedric earned his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after winning a world championship title.

Cedric founded FH Defense in order to provide private citizens, first responders and corporate clients with quality content, training and information pertaining to conflict avoidance, de-escalation and unarmed self-defense.

The additional instructor cadre at FH Defense consists of highly experienced trainers with extensive backgrounds in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Law Enforcement (particularly defensive tactics and use of force), and/or Military.
